"Varsity Blues" actor in Monroe for film shoot

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Ron Lester, most noticeably known for his character Billy Bob in "Varsity Blues," is in Monroe to shoot a sizzle trailer.

Lester is working on a movie called "Racing Legacy." He has written and will be an Executive Producer for the film. Lester said in order to sell the movie into distribution channels, a sizzle trailer must be made.

Lester and Major Dodge, another actor and producer, will be working this weekend in the Monroe area, with the majority of work happening at the Revolution Park race track.

The actor is also has received attention for his drastic weight loss. Lester weighed at one point 508 pounds.

Lester will hold a meet and greet with fans on Friday evening at 6:00 P.M. at 7th Square, which is located near the Farmer's Market in West Monroe.

The money from the tax would go into a protected trust fund. The federal government would then match the trust fund and grant the money back to the state through the medicaid program. In the end, hospitals paying the tax would get more money back than originally paid.
