UPDATE TUESDAY NIGHT

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Louisiana State police are looking into a Train versus a truck deadly wreck.

It happened on State Highway 134, just east of State Highway 139 near the Ouachita and Morehouse Parish line Tuesday evening.

Troopers say 22-year-old Jason Hensley from Lake Providence lost his life after the wreck. There was a male passenger in the vehicle. Troopers say that person is recovering in a Monroe hospital suffering from minor injuries.

An early investigation shows the train was already moving along the tracks. But then the 2000 Chevy truck carrying a car on top of a trailer behind it, crashed into the side of the moving train.

Troopers believe the driver may have tried to stop to honor the right-of-way of the train.

No word on the name of the passenger.

Alcohol is not expected to be a factor in this crash.
